Today i want to tell you about a funny flashgame i discovered recently. The name is Desktop Tower Defense.

Goal of the game is to prevent little handdrawn smileys to pass the desk. You have different types of towers to place/draw on the desk so the smileys cant pass. You can even upgrade the towers and there are different types of towers against different types of smileys. Some Smiley fly whereas others run fast and so on…

I just discovered a very useful interview over at destructoid. You can read how Moonpod answers questions about independend game development. Moonpod is a team consisting of only 2 people from the uk. Their famous titles Starscape und Mister Robot are award winning not only in the indie gaming scene.
They discuss the future of the game industry, marketing pain and development times. The interview is rather long but you can learn a lot, if you are interested what the life of an indie is all about.
Have fun with it!

Today just a small news about our own game. We of cause not lay back after we won the casual game contest. With the positive power of this success, we worked hard on the completion of the snowlevels for the game. Here is a mini screenshot for you, to get a feeling.
The snowlevel are pretty funny, because you can slide on ice, push snowman around or take a slayride just to name a few possibilities. But you also have to watch out for evil snowman, seals, penguins wich you must avoid in order to finish a level. Now its not taking long till the next and last theme for the casual game is finished. Be patient - its worth it!

Hey there, i just decided to compile a linklist for gamedev that helps the beginner, intermediate or even pro users to find helpful ressources for independent game development. I will always try to keep this list up to date and eliminate old/outdated links. Please dont worry, that i can not include all links, i want to keep it as clean and helpful as possible without too much confusing content.
It is not meant for the 3DGS A6/A7 user exclusively, but for everyone who wants to dive into game development and gather knowledge/tools. I also list freeware/cheap tools first, because those are meant for the indies. Note that all tools, links are tested and recommended by me and not just copied from somewhere. They are meant as a basic toolset or starting point, so you cant go wrong if you learn to use and master the things listed here!
You can find this link always under the “Freebies” Section and the sidebar, be shure to bookmark it and let me know if i missed/missspelled something, as this list will constantly grow. Thanks!
Remember: Not the tools make a great game, but the one(s) behind them!

The site allows you to post jobs or searchthrough job categories including 3d, textures, programming, and level design. You can evaluate artists by previewing their work and reading feedbackratings from other users. You can also post and browse resumes. Here are some of the features listed on the site:
-Completely Free
-Easy to use Web 2.0 interface
-Intuitive rating system
-Profile section that supports images and links
-Messages Area
-Resumes Section
The good thing about this service is, that it is completely free of charge! Also note that it is not limited to 3DGS, you can find any good team member worldwide. So if you search for the next John Carmack for your team, go ahead and register now.
